Further, we employ On-The-Job (OJT) trainees in various positions to learn and grow with our Company through the OJT programme of the Ministry of Labour.

Here is what some people had to say:

“The Management and Staff of BELEC Power and Energy Solutions Ltd has always been very accommodating and willing to assist with training MIC-IT’s Electrical trainees from the Multi-Sector Skills Training Programme (MuST) for a number of years. The level of training received is of a high standard and multifaceted. We are pleased with our trainees’ level of exposure and training in all aspects of electrical installation and repairs, as well as solar panel installation at various job sites. The partnership with BELEC is also in alignment with MIC-IT’s mission and vision to provide quality training for growth and prosperity.”
– Cherry-Ann Holder-Sealey, Placement Officer, Placement Unit, MIC-IT
“BELEC Electrical communicated their interest in partnering with MIC-IT for the industrial attachment of Electrical trainees. The Placement Unit facilitated meetings to provide information and conducted site visits to ensure the company was a viable entity and met the requirements and standards of MIC-IT.
During my visits to the various sites and in performing monitoring duties as a Placement Officer, I am able to witness the volume of tasks in which our trainees are engaged. Thus far, the company is able to effectively meet the needs of our trainees and of MIC-IT. This partnership allows trainees to gain much experience and exposure in all aspects of electrical installation and repairs. The trainees were also exposed to high voltage testing and installation of solar panels at various locations. Additionally, I have also had the opportunity to interact with members of BELEC’s staff both at the office and on location and they have exhibited high levels of professionalism, efficiency and provide excellent service to their customers. BELEC continues to exceed our expectations by their course of action taken in the training and development of MIC-IT’s trainees.”
– Michelle Callis - Placement Officer, Placement Unit, MIC-IT
“I have been placed in BELEC for a year now and I must say I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in Electrical Installation. My training has made me capable of installing plugs, lights, switches, working in live panels, servicing them, and doing panel directories. I am now proficient in executing these new skills on our jobsites.
My training has also exposed me to high voltage testing and the installation of solar panels. We installed solar panels at the Matura Beach Turtle Watching facility which was new to me at the time but was very interesting.”
– Kershi Logan - NSDP Trainee
